For RACM (National Service for Archaeology, Culture Landscape and Monuments), in the past ROB, in 2006 an inventory was made of 25 archaeological open-air museums, spread across Europe. These serve as example and inspiration for those in the Netherlands who want to make archaeological information accessible at local level. The reports are added to the Project Data Base Cultural History. In 2007 this is expanded with a series about on site museums, which are presenting a genuine archaeological excavation on location. These series as well is about museums all across Europe. In international museum context, the ‘site museums’ and the ‘reconstruction museums’ are under the same heading.
